Noel Clarke: Report made to police after allegations against actor

...
In a statement, Jake Taylor, principal and founder of the school [London School of Dramatic Art (LSDA)], said Clarke, ran an "unsanctioned" practical acting workshop where he "set up improvisation exercises in which the students were told they had to get undressed and get ready for bed".

In response the school stopped Clarke taking unsupervised sessions "with immediate effect", he said.

In response to the allegations, Clarke's lawyers denied that the LSDA had ever asked him to stop giving his classes, and said the workshop, called Facing Your Fears, was intended to help students with anxieties over their acting roles, helping to "normalise" the removal of outer clothing in a safe environment.

On Thursday the Guardian reported allegations of harassment and bullying from women who knew Clarke in a professional capacity.
The following day, before the LSDA allegations were published, Clarke said he was "deeply sorry" for some of his actions and would seek professional help.

However, he "vehemently" denied any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing.

...

Encouraging students to strip off reminds me of my creepy drama teacher, who'd be the draconian fear-monger one minute, trying to be pals with the kids the next (you never knew where you were with him, so best to keep your head down), who with my class contrived a situation where he could see 12 year-old girls getting changed and another where he could see up their skirts. He was always one of the accompanying teachers on school trips to France, a major deterrent to going. But he had standards. He didn't leave his wife for one of his pupils until the pupil turned 16.

Clarke sounds like another creep, who with his apology/promise to seek help/denial also seems to be following in the footsteps of Harvey Weinstein.

"Weinstein issues an apology acknowledging he "has caused a lot of pain" - but disputes allegations he harassed female employees over nearly three decades."

I've no idea if Noel Clarke is guilty or not but let's not forget for every guilty person there are loads more who have suffered due to sex allegations which have later been either thrown out or found not guilty like Cliff Richard, Jimmy Tarbuck, Paul Gambaccini, John Leslie, Jim Davidson and Mike Osman, Neil Fox, Andrew Lancel, Michael Le Vell, William Roache, Dave Lee Travis (1 minor conviction and lost his house!) and Craig McLachlan.

Craig McLachlan has said that these false allegations have ruined his and his family's life

If the allegations about Noel Clarke are true then i hope he gets what's coming to him. But let's not presume someone
is guilty before being found so.

“I Lost Everything”: Noel Clarke Likens Cancel Culture To “Modern McCarthyism” After UK Police Cease Sexual Harassment Investigation
By Caroline Frost

British actor-producer Noel Clarke has spoken out for the first time since the Metropolitan Police announced that none of the allegations of being a sexual predator and bully made against the double BAFTA winner met the threshold for further police inquiry, and that they would be ceasing to investigate him.

Clarke, who saw a catalogue of projects cancelled in the light of the allegations made against him and the closure of his production company, told the Daily Mail:

“There has been no arrest, no charges, no trial, no verdict but I have been criminalised. This is a form of modern McCarthyism.”

He said: “If we don’t need police and judges and juries any more, if we only need social media and the broadcasters, then what world do we live in? At what point did the broadcasters in this country become the judges, juries and executioners of people? At what point did BAFTA decide they were no longer about films, but they were about judging people’s lives? This is not about me, it’s bigger, it’s about due process. Yes, people have said these things about me – but if I say you’re a donkey, it doesn’t make you a donkey, does it?”

His comments come after BAFTA suspended his membership and withdrew its award to him for outstanding achievement in the British film industry, following the publication of the allegations in the Guardian newspaper. The complaints were made by more than 20 women and spanned a 15-year period, with claims including unwanted touching, groping, inappropriate behaviour and the covert filming of a naked audition. Clarke has always denied all allegations made against him.

He is now suing BAFTA and the Guardian for defamation. He is also suing magazine publisher Conde Nast, which ran a piece about the controversy in its GQ magazine.

“Twenty years of work was gone in 24 hours,” Clarke told the Mail. “I lost everything. The company I built from the ground up, my TV shows, my movies, my book deals, the industry respect I had. In my heart and my head it has damaged me in a way I cannot articulate.”

Looking ahead, he says he wants the film and TV industry to create a framework where “women and vulnerable people are protected but which also protects people who may be thrown under the bus unjustly,” and where people can “differentiate between an evil guy and someone who might have made a mis-step.”

Clarke adds that he can’t see an easy way back to his career after being “cancelled” by BAFTA, broadcasters and production companies.

“None of them wants to be wrong. They made such big, bold statements. Then there’s the current climate, the moment anyone speaks out, or even says, ‘Hold on a second, what’s the context?’ society turns on them too.”

It's not the first Gurdian will be sued for libel. They just settle out of court and hope it's the end of it.

The media are now judge, jury and executioner. The Twatter mob are those outside side court houses with placards.
