TOPIC: New Zealand locks down

New Zealand locks down 2 Years, 8 Months ago
Well, this strategy seems to have worked down there. Slam borders shut; make everyone stay at home and you can at least slow the spread until vaccines and other treatments start working, making the effects of the virus acceptable.

My suspicion is that it will spread anyway and that eventually it will be decided, like flu, that testing is pointless and learning to live with it is the answer.

However, when the next, new infectious disease arrives, this will be considered the way to deal with it. I've always said, if a new virus as serious as Ebola arrives, this is acceptable. My feelings about Covid were (and remain) that media inflated the dangers of this trivial virus, causing almost everyone to panic. Over reaction can be lethal too.

very small population in NZ and they are spread out over 2 islands

I still cannot follow how it spreads in different countries.

Australia for example..26 million people..not many but 95% live in 5 cities so they are densely populated..larger than many US cities where it's surging.

all very odd.

even odder as I know everything about everything else but this!

Yes, some things seem to make no sense.
Why do some of the countries with the highest infection and death rate have the most vaccinated people? And the exact opposite in some places where they do nothing at all?

It is confusing even without all the bollocky nonsense.

I was horrified earlier. We are going to the theatre in a bit so did a lateral flow test as requested, and my daughter asked me if I wanted the result registered so they could text me back with proof to show I was negative.

Well it was a resounding no, obviously. But what the heck is the point of that? You could be lying to them about the results, so it means diddly squat.

Another waste of time and money and an assault on common sense.

The problem may become like here in France, Honey; they simply won't let you in unless you can prove you're negative and/or have had both jabs. Here they check your "bar code" at the door. I had to get my UK jabs verified by the French company/app (called TousAntiCovid). Wot a palaver! But it seems to work and is on my phone. Hotels won't let you check in without it. Neither will swimming pools. Even entering beaches requires it.

Globalists are at it again.

Even 2 jabs is not enough.

Do you need a HIV negative test to enter clubs ?
