TOPIC: Here we go again. Savile.

Here we go again. Savile. 2 Years, 8 Months ago
Why on earth do people keep pretending that they "knew" that children were being raped and did nothing to stop it?

If by any chance someone could be that low, you would think they would shut up about it, not boast.
It is as if they get a thrill from the idea.

Yes total rubbish to suggest a mass of people igored child rape to raise money for their charities. If I was writing a crime novel I would discard this as far-fetched and ridiculous. I am not saying this vindicates Saville (I have no idea what he did or didn't do...how can any of us?); just agreeing that this claim is headline grabbing nonsense.

THE "WITNESS" COULD AT LEAST HAVE ENSURED HE DIDN'T HAVE SAVILE'S HAIRSTYLE

Boasting about not reporting crime doesn't seem very wise. Surely the police should be paying them a visit.

"In the documentary, released on Discovery+ earlier this month, David describes how staff would joke Savile's preference for very young girls."

Ah, so it was a joke. They clearly didn't take it seriously, then. That must be why they didn't report it. Why are they claiming the "knew" about something they didn't take seriously? Totally disingenuous.

Rumours, gossip and jokes + death + posthumous allegations/compo claims = Britain's "worst sexual predator".

Anna Raccoon/Moor Larkin/Rabbitaway have shown beyond doubt that the original Duncroft accusers were bogus, which makes anyone coming along later saying "me too" equally bogus. Yet the media are still chasing after this story. I wonder if they ask any of these heroes in the documentary why they didn't go to police.

There was a guy went to my local pub many years ago - prob late 50s at time. Everyone used to make "jokes" about him being interested in young girls and the fact that he was a swimming coach part time.

I can't say it occured to any of us to contact police - far too vague and no evidence of anything. I suspect it was the same with Saville.

Anyway, Digby (name changed for legal reasons...) rocked up with a 19 year old Thai bride one Xmas. I remember his wonderful indifference to the appalled looks of a very posh old lady and her friend when I was having a drink with them ; Digby's bride balanced on his knee giggling.

They seemed very happy to me for the 3 or 4 years after that I knew them...

as a person who spent 30 years in and out of PR and music circles and The Meejah I never heard any gossip about Savile except an occasional "is he gay"?

And the gay angle was something said about anyone not appearing with a dolly bird on their arm in The Sun.

But we know in fact he had 2 very long time girlfriends and he never "flaunted" it.

I only met him briefly once..handing over a record which he came downstairs to collect at Broadcasting House and thought at the time.."you are just a down to earth normal person who has chosen funny hair and clothes as a gimmick"

## should I have put in a claim for BBC compo?

I know! I found him completely ordinary and a bit boring. Absolutely nothing unusual at all.

Ah, yes. Years ago the papers would use the phrase 'Mr X, who is not married' to semi-confirm to their suspecting readers that the man in question was indeed gay.

I don't think Savile was. My own feelings are that as an unmarried man he didn't turn down offers of rumpy pumpy that were handed to him on a plate.

It was a charity thing. Not an event, just a normal day. he seemed very interested, asked questions and made a donation. And that's it.

I wonder what happened to those people who thought they were Jimmy Savile's accidental offspring? Was it two of them?

That is what made me think of it, Sheba. It looks like he is gearing up to making a claim.

There are/were several. The DNA is available for testing with my approval. The first challenge to him being a father was negative.

I was as surprised as they were, just shows looks can be deceiving.

I still recall seeing a tabloid interview with a now deceased woman who claimed Savile abused her at the ToTP citing the wrong location as Anna Raccoon revealed..she said how distraught she had been with her entire life.."rooned" and so on and it made her hate the BBC to a point she could never ever watch it all those years later.

Yet her photograph in her living room showed behind her..a proud looking display of Daleks and Dr Who memorabilia on a shelf.

It was a good example of how the media simply skipped over an obvious questionable kink in her story for the greater Good Story of adding to the Savile pile-on.

### Would they ever question someone who claims they knew "Savile was an abuser" when The Met clearly stated on their website they had no intention of investigating claims about Savile as he was deceased ?
