Re:So what will happen to Langham now JK, from your experiences? 16 Years, 9 Months ago
Well depending on where he goes on remand (Elmley I suspect from Maidstone CC - would have been Hellmarsh - Belmarsh - if it had been a really serious case at the Old Bailey), he'll be whisked off there (probably onto the hospital wing over the weekend).
This is when he will seriously consider killing himself.
The jeers from other inmates because of the high profile (mine was not - contempt of court meant nobody knew I'd been convicted until after the second trial - and acquittal - 6 weeks later), the extraordinary sensory shock of prison (smells, dirt, brutality)... but hospital watch will keep him from doing anything foolish.
Then on Monday he'll be transferred into the VP wing and he'll have to get used to sharing a cell (overcrowding) and Elmley food (better than Belmarsh - the ham is excellent and you can order fresh fruit and vegetables on "canteen")...
And of course the negative effects of the ghastly Sunday coverage won't help.
It won't be easy for a sensitive man. I found it fascinating, informative and great fun - but, then, I'm odd.
