I've known for ages that humanity is totally controlled by the media. I sometimes hold up, as an example, my hit Leap Up And Down (Wave Your Knickers In The Air). This production (1971?) was totally broken globally by media manipulation. It only sold around 400,000 copies but at £1 profit per copy, that half a million was, even 50 years ago, a decent sum.

Today I watch TV News - No1 story is Meghan - a total non news story. But a pretty girl. Policies like the scrapping of a rail project are suitably boring and consigned to the bin. Really, who cares if it still takes 33 minutes to go to Leeds from Manchester instead of the 29 mins promised? For God's sake!

The media believes cricket players years ago saying things they wouldn't dream of saying now, is a bigger story than a suicide bomber trying to blow a hospital up a few days ago.

Nothing will change in the slightest as long as this aim of achieving “justice for victims of crime” persists. Their job is to impartially investigate the two sides of a claim in order to achieve justice, not just one side.

You make it sound as if the only reason knickers was a (minor) hit was because of media manipulation. I am sure it helped, but the reason that song was popular was because it was a very catchy tune with novelty lyrics, as demonstrated by everyone still being able to sing it fifty years later and it being ripped off successfully several times since.

Leap Up And Down (Wave Your Knickers In The Air..such a jolly title and the sort of thing I often do (in private) remember it well..and of course organs of repute like the Daily Sport & News of The World must have lurved it but...
