We went out yesterday for a meal - the first time really in two years, not counting the odd casual cafe visit - and my god I hated it. Restaurants complain about the financial challenges they face: well, yes, but they should try coping by being welcoming rather than just sneaking in extra service charges whilst looking miserable. We didn't feel remotely welcome, had to wait ages for any service at all, and on top of that had to endure idiots coughing all around as if we were in some flu clinic. I guess I've completely lost that frame of mind needed to cope with such things, but now I just can't be bothered.
"Flu clinic" really made me laugh. I know exactly what you mean.
Also, I have lost count of the times I have stood in the queue watching the sales assistant cough, splutter and smear snot over everything, and I walk out empty handed.
They always say "its ok, its not covid"
I really don't care what it is, I would just rather not have it, thanks!
