If the actual chief medical officer tells us that vaccinations don't stop infection or transmission, why is everyone ignoring what he is saying?
What is being said is that vaccinations reduce the rates of infection.

The majority would prefer to attend an event for the vaccinated only.

Barney, I don't care who is vaccinated or not. At Christmas there will be 40 yes 40 around my house. Some are vaccinated some are not ! We old enough to make our own choices in life.
If I get Covid for the fourth time so be it ! I will just self isolate again and I will not register my tests to the government website or NHS.
If theatre's, pubs and restaurant's close for good it's not our fault but the governments own doing. I will not go to any restaurant or pub with perplex screens again it was uncomfortable and claustrophobic. I couldn't even get a coffee in McDonalds but their Deliveroo drivers were in and out the restaurant's unmasked.
If Plan C is in place it's only a step away from a full another lockdown. It would finish off pretty much every small business and probably bankrupt me for being self-employed. Even in the second and third lockdown I got FUCK ALL from the state.
I had to dissolve my business in the first lockdown and lay off everyone I couldn't afford to give them redundancy money. I didn't get any government help despite asking for it !

It isn't a case of what people would "prefer" but a case of what works and makes sense.
This study is reassuring for those who cant get away from an infected family member, but you have no choice but to be at home.
Going to pubs and concerts is optional, so cant really be compared.
Of course you will transmit the virus easier if you are coughing and spluttering. (a lateral flow test will get you into the venue at this stage of the illness because it doesn't work if you are symptomatic)
However, what we gain by avoiding the spluttering, we lose by the increased chance of being in contact with people who don't know that they have it, because they are vaccinated.
There could be an entire stadium full of infected people and we would not know.
With the highly infectious variant, this could actually happen in a few weeks when we all get it at the same time.
We are unlikely to come into contact with spluttering covid infested people unless we live them, mostly.(although some would be tempted to go to an expensive concert anyway, by using the lateral flow test as a pass)
So again, how does it help? (passports not vaccinations. I am pro-vax)

You have had it THREE TIMES? Good grief! You have put your trust in your immune system and it has buggered off and left you!
What is being said is that vaccinations reduce the rates of infection.

So what is the fucking point getting jabbed then ???
The only point in getting jabbed is to build up antibodies and make it less likely you will get seriously ill if you contract Covid. Your vaccination status is nobody's business but your own; and on a death rate of less than one percent, no business of the state. It is also no business of Barney's and people like him - when attending functions - how many in the room are vaccinated. The same way it is none of his business how long the people driving on the A road he uses evey morning have been driving, or how much they like alcohol or not.

No, not equally.
Vaccinated people are less likely to be infectious.

But if I am standing next to breathing covid fumes while bellowing along with Adele, will it really matter if I clear it a bit quicker from my system?
Plus, if I was actually ILL with covid, being unvaccinated, I am much less likely to be at the Adele concert in the first place.
I would sooner shoot myself than sit through Adele, but that's beside the point.
