Note to Boris.... 2 Years, 4 Months ago
Dear Boris

Well done. Unlike the other countries of the UK you are monitoring the actual data (dumbo voice "the science") with regards to Covid and have not yet panicked.

All data points to Omicron being very mild in effect; and hospitalisation rates normal.

Well done Boris keep it up. Keep calm. Resist the media. You are being sane and responsible amidst the manufactured storm.

I suspect you will break after Christmas, but resist it. Well done, as well, for ignoring that hysterical fraud Starmer. History will be on your side.

Love it WYOT. Not a Boris fan but his instincts on this were right from the start (even when he caught Covid and suffered - well aware it was because he was heavily over weight). Like Trump; I'm not a fan either but he made the most intelligent comment when he said the way to get fewer infections was to test less. It is absurd testing for something which is only dangerous to a tiny minority - especially when it is done instead of protecting the obviously vulnerable.

Thanks both.

This makes me smile:

Watch out! You mostly won't be able to tell the difference between having a cold and Covid....

QUITE! And for anyone with a brain the conversation stops there.

Are our leaders really so moronic as to say "increased infections means increased hospitalisation" whilst NOT seeing "testing means millions stuck at home instead of manning hospitals"??? Really it worries me, how brain dead our simplified species has become.

Again, well done Boris:

I am starting to think - on this issue alone - he may stand tall at long last. Yes he is culpable for not protecting the vulnerable the first time around; but he is following science & reason now not the MSM (though they are moving a bit towards sanity as well...).

The landscape is changing. The ice of hysterical unreason is thawing.

2022: Covid will be contexualised and denied its previous status as a religion. The Covid hysterics will, though, need a new hobby horse. Those types always do.

with due respect to our Glorious Leader JK I though Trump's statement about less testing was one of his more ignorant and moronic claims he has made (which is saying something ) especially with US deaths heading to 1,000,000.

Then again medical services in Oz are practically falling apart with people queuing literally all day to get tested..some arriving at 4am !

I mean if you don;t feel sick why are they bothering?

There is a drive in testing centre near me in Bondi Beach and the queue of cars is long with some waiting ages..and I cannot understand if they are going to this trouble for a test, wouldn't it be better to just jab them with the vaccine as they drive through?

Sorry to disagree Hedda but millions die every year in the USA - as they do across the world. And those dying BECAUSE of Covid are way smaller than from many other illnesses (Cancer as a direct result of smoking cigarettes causes FAR more deaths). The absurd "testing" - put in place because those without symptoms might spread it to the vulnerable - became even more unnecessary after vaccines were "discovered". If we tested for Colds or Flu, it's probable BILLIONS would test positive but we have always relied on COMMON SENSE - so perhaps some people (NHS, Care Home workers) should be tested. But everyone? STUPID and liable to cause panic, as it did, has and will.

Er, they are following the lead of their Government; which has done nothing but impose silly and nonsensical behaviours on the well for nearly two years now...
