It's no wonder that Joe Biden thinks that more European countries joining NATO is a good idea. Essentially, he runs it! Military command of NATO must (and always has been) in the hands of the Americans, with two Generals permanently in situ.

Ukraine are the first to have fought their aggressors with arms supplied by numerous countries. This generosity has both revitalised NATO and made Russia less of a future threat, at the same time.

Russia's combat capability has been greatly diminished and Taiwan, also living in the shadow of a major power with designs on it, will have taken notice. Quickly making new friends, like Ukraine.

I am so glad Russia's combat capability has been diminished, there was I more concerned about her nuclear arsenal...
