Media, BBC, competence... 1 Year, 10 Months ago
So the BBC News man at Gatwick mimed but was silent. Oops - back to Hugh. A few minutes later back to the man in Gatwick who could now be heard (just) but clearly his lapel mic on his shirt was pointing the wrong way - at the floor, not his mouth. In my day this would have caused the sound person to be fired. Not any longer. Nobody cares these days.

Unfortunately, people no longer have pride in what they are doing, and failure is acceptable.

Especially in the media.

I wonder if bosses are now scared to fire anyone these days ?

I see more and incompetent waitresses waiters in restaurants these days. Not forgetting how many of them don't actually know the menu.
