the Princess Diana crash photos 16 Years, 6 Months ago
I'm interested in what contributers think about the publication of the pics of the tragic crash that killed Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed. It looks like the crash was far more documented on film than we first thought.

I remember the outrage at the papazazzi at the time-and how most daily newspapers said they would never publish pics like this and would leave the young Princes alone. I think we all knew that was a 'non-core' promise. Most of the photographers said they either destroyed the pics they had taken of Diana in the car, or their film was confiscated. But one big photo agency has recently told how they did a deal with The Mirror within hours of the crash for pics but it was then cancelled.

I've always thought the pictures would eventually surface-I'm sure there are more pics out there ( I've seen one fuzzy one of poor Diana in the car on the web-she looked like was alseep-God bless her).

Do others think we in some way contributed to Diana's death-even in the slightest way-because of our appetite for this type of news ?

What contributed to her death was reckless high-speed driving and failure to wear a seat-belt.

Everything else is the media finding an "angle" to report a story and get the highest circulation they can.

Same old same old.

Forgive my ignorance, but is deluded multi-millionaire Al Fayed paying for this enquiry or is it from public coffers?

I always felt that he was merely trying to offset liability for the accident which killed his son and two other people, namely a driver under his employ losing control of a car driving too fast and possibly after a few too many riccards. Had they been wearing seatbelts in one of the safest cars on the road they would have survived. Prince Phillip? Murder? Coh! What a load of fuggin' old cobblers.

Still. As zooloo says, sells newspapers donnit?

well yeah..but isn't that my point.."sells newspapers" !
And we buy them !

I know all the different things people say about Diana being scatty, playing games with the press but I reckon she was caught up in something way out of her control.

I did have a friend who worked in a Paddington hospice years ago and he told me how Diana used to visit at least once a week, sometimes 3 times, late at night without the media knowing , and sit and chat to people with terminal diseases for 2 or 3 hours. They would really feel great afterwards and think the must be special if the Princess of Wales took time to visit them. I reckon she had a good soul.

I don't know about Al Fayed's scatty theories-I can understand how upset he is about losing his son. I can't believe Prince Phillip would be behind anything-even Tony Benn said the "establishment" would do away with the Royal Family if it suited them.

And Prince Phillip has said-"if you want us to leave we can be packed within the hour". I think he's wonderfully eccentric.

So I guess no-one thinks they are even in the slightest bit guilty by reading about Diana's bizarre life ?.

Not trying to pin guilt on anyone-just interested in your views !
