I cannot imagine ever paying someone to have sex with me (how damaging for the ego is that?) but the bloody Scottish puritan ethic is kicking in again...

If someone wants to use their assets to make money, has no problem doing it, and another wishes for sex so badly that they are prepared to buy it, surely it is consenting adults engaging in mutual activity?

Behind this (as in so much these days) is the ethic that sex is bad and wrong (though unfortunately sometimes a necessity to propagate further religious bigots).

You won't find many admitting that they believe sex is wrong but you'll find a lot who find reasons for clamping down on the filthy activity.

Sex is dirty....so criminalise it,just so we can get a jail full of pimps and prostitutes who can't pay the fines.
Same stupidity here as drugs,by criminalising the addicts you just end up with a load of crime to pay the extortionate price they fetch on the black market.
I expect it's a policy designed to appeal to a small,but influential section of the electorate.
The only people who benefit out of this nonsense are the quick buck criminals.It costs a fortune to police it,and the jail time etc.

It`s not really a subject I have thought about in the last few decades, to the extent of which I was removed from a Sociology class at school for advocating the use of them.

All I would add, is that Hamburg is not particularly known for violence.

Actually this is the same old combination. Criminalising people based on outmoded religious morality, and nice easy targets for the police.

2 people agreeing on a financial transaction between each other to engage in a physical activity-absolutely none of the government's business ( or anyone elses).

They should butt out of people's personal lives and those who propose these laws should be booted out of office.
