Rachel Truss and the Kwasi Starmer budget 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Doesn't look to me like a good one but who cares? None of it makes any real difference. Politicians are redundant. Just as Democracy no longer works. When government depends on best personal image and not on talent - no surprise there. Campaigners will be in garbage trucks or on water skis next.

There is no semblance of similarity between this budget and the rancid cake of disaster served up by Truss and Kwarteng. If you need an NHS and an affordable place to live it's a budget that's been needed for a very long time.

Ah Cat there's the rub; some of us believe it is the way the NHS is run that accounts for the disastrous state of it - NOT lack of funds. Ministers seem unable to see the real problems and, like other outside observers, believe in simplistic solutions to complex problems.

Can't claim to know much about economics and while I agree our public services are in decline, I suspect just taxing our way out of it is not actually a realistic option, and may make things worse.

Labour seem very simplistic to me so far: ban things, tax 'em, make laws. Keir Cromwell marches on.

Well, JK, Reeves has at least laid out a financial foundation. That's her role. But this government is still very young, we shall see if they live up to their words. That last government did not invest. They spent like Viv Nicholson on acid, but after 14 years, nothing to show for it. We shall see.

If the budget was reasonable, she would not have needed to spend fifteen minutes slagging off the previous government and blaming them.
It was uncouth.

Which Honey is exactly what every other Chancellor has done. lol. It's the nature of the beast called Parliament. It really wasn't that bad. I fear some here where anticipating it to be a disaster, which it isn't. Okay, I admit they should have stuck to their pledge of no tax rises, but pledges should be done away with. No-one ever sticks to them. But I admire Reeves looking beyond the next five years. Vision. That's what is needed. And is what has been missing for 14 years.

The last 5 years were caused by Labour, they wanted furlough, more lockdown and some Labour MPs made some money out of the plandemic.

Also 8 million a day is spent on migrants but we better not mention that yet.

Perfectly put.

Britain is becoming an NHS with a country attached to it.

They could have thrown another £100,000,000,000 (One hundred billion) at it yesterday and we would still be hearing about waiting lists, poor outcomes, shortages of this and that and another winter crisis in 12 months time.

It's the 5th biggest state owned employer in the entire world, and in ratio to our nation size the top one when you compare us to the size of China, India and the USA below;

You could throw trillions of pounds in to the NHS, there will still be too managers, not enough beds, killer nurses and out dated I.T.

And the Tory tabloids attempting to make the best Budget in years to look like an attack on the British people. Farmers allegedly going on strike. It's as if Brexit never happened...that which did more damage to Farming than anything else in the last 80 years.

I didn't vote at all, not even for the referendum. The globalists never wanted Brexit to work, and we are still bound to several EU laws. It was out or Remain, not Out with laws still attached.

It's so sad what is happening to the NHS.

Australia's Medicare is based on it and operates superbly with no long queues for surgery and doctors so easy to see with little waiting time.

Everything is free at point of use and although we pay a tax to support it, it's very small.

The Big Difference..entirely State run with no privatisation.

Green Man, you really do need help blaming Labour for the last 5 years.

Remind me which party was in power over that period.
