TOPIC: Bus fares

Bus fares 1 Week, 4 Days ago
I did make most of the £2 when it started. Has return journeys are no £6, it's cheaper to use my own transport. £2 per journey was more than enough, buses are filthy, late, rowdy and nearly of them are bone shakers.

Like I said before, I have used buses in Baltic countries which are cleaner, not always on time and not bone shakers.

I thought the government wanted people to use public transport more, if it's cheaper to use your own car what's the point? I have no idea why the government caved into train drivers, who can still strike when they want to.

The idea is that we will own nothing but be happy. The government are asking us "why go out, when you can drink at home".

When I was making small to cashiers in shops, just asking if they go out on New Years Eve. Nearly all of them said they can't afford to. £5-6 per pint does add up, booze is slightly more in a club.

A full of bottle of table wine in a pub is about £20 give or take, you can get the same bottle from the supermarket for about £7.

Going out for New Years was always better than Christmas Day.

I can't believe people thought that Labour would be the better option for the country. The Labours I have met, no deny voting for them.

With franchisees - such as Stagecoach, Arriva, Compass and Metrobus - the bus service in Surrey is excellent, under every heading.

A most helpful feature is the smartphone map/timetable which shows you exactly where your bus is - in the event of traffic holdups or roadworks.

Buses all have free WiFi, and many have charging points - with automatic announcements/screens giving details of the route/next stop.

So what's your point then? It's no different to other countries with WiFi or charging points on buses. Google maps also does bus tracking.

Buses are still expensive to rest of Europe to get to A to B.

Talking dirty buses GM, I'll happily name and shame.

Red Rose Travel. A bus company in Buckinghamshire that has its buses around Milton Keynes. I have never in my life seen such a disgusting and filthy fleet of buses as those from this company. They should be ashamed of themselves. So dirty, especially at this time of year that not only can't you read the number plate sometimes, you can't even read the name on the side very easily and the windows are so disgustingly dirty that nobody can see out of them apart from the driver, or they are dripping with condensation looking ripe for germ spreading. I see them go past and can't believe any company wants to project itself in such a filthy manner. They would have to pay me to use them, not vice versa. I don't understand not keeping a bus fleet clean and sticking theem through a washer, it's one of the most basic requirements you'd expect. Many buses I've seen in London often look spotless.

I have never seen a bus in MK either as new as this or as clean as this one on their website - www.redrosetravel.com/

There has been a scam come to notice in MK regards another bus company that wanted to withdraw routes due to lack of passenger numbers but who have been deliberately not charging people who are using their buses on these routes and giving them free rides so it makes the passenger numbers look bad and they can withdraw the service. I rarely use buses but did so coming out of MK Central railway station last summer and the driver refused my money. Didn't bother me, my saving, couldn't work it out as he had the machine to take it, and as I sat there he refused every other person who wished to pay along a 5 mile route. Not only were people who should pay a fare not being asked to do so but neither were the pensioner free bus passes being registered either. That was Arriva. They have since withdrawn the route based on what appears very sharp practice.

My nearest Spoons is a 35 min drive or so or a 60 min bus journey.

Are you sure you didn't go on a bender and woke up in Coney Island?

Where I live, it's all Stagecoach.

Again the elite cater for the urban and inner cities. £6 for a return journey in my area is more expensive than driving.
