BBC Grammar 16 Years, 2 Months ago
quote from a NE BBC reporter during last week's snow.

"If your child normally comes home at the normal time, you can expect them a little earlier than normal today."

My old English teacher would have gone nuts.

Love it!

"Yer know yer kid like? They might be a bit home early `cos there some snow about."

Oddly enough, certain Radio 1 guys could have said just that.

What made me cringe on TV was when a game show host told a contestant "And you also get a consolation prize as well." Eeek!
