Why is JK seemingly unable to talk about anything - without bringing himself into it ?

Because everything relates to oneself and it is wise to point out that opinions are subjective.

Talking about yourself is far more safe than talking to yourself. Trust me I know.

No JK. Its simply egotism. (Too frequent use of 'I' and 'me'; practice of talking about oneself. Oxford Dictionary)

Now , now children, if you can't play nicely together...
the whole of this site is dedicated to JK and his ego, and for most of the time it is all pretty jolly knockabout stuff, with the odd stimulating debate on something valid. My thoughts on his guilt and subsequent incarceration are on record, but I have to admit to admiring aspects of the man and so put up with his ego occasionally overflowing.

Should people with egomania (morbid egotism) be controlled ?

I think that there is always a fine-line, with being cocky or confident.

Unfortunately Brits always seem to like a loser, especially in sporting events, and when someone is confident in ones ability, they are automatically assumed being egotisical.

Anyone who has their own website has a right to blow their own trumpet about their achievements and put across their accreditations, and also is kind enough to let other people put across differing points of view.

And there is a deep seated feeling, like the enormous homophobia in the world, that it is obnoxious for someone to dare buck socially acceptable behaviour.

Many feel - even if they think I was wrongly convicted or badly treated - that I should shut up and go away.

An articulate spokesman is very dangerous to elements in society that would prefer to see truth suffocated and simple headline approaches accepted.

It's so much cheaper and easier.

Listening to challengers tends to give the intelligent sleepless nights.

That's probably why no news channels will ask your opinions on the state of prisons, they would be scared of your response as you have been there and know what it is like.

I once got told I was obnoxious, arrogant, opinionated, stubborn and small. Since all 5 assumptions are factually correct I thanked the assailant and took it as a compliment. If she had said I was modest, humble, sweet natured, pleasant and tall, she would have been lying.
