..the main point in the lectuer is when do we get a wheelchair into the BB house, and to what extent are the disabled being exploited..

some would say BB (which I can't watch) should have disabled people in the house... 17 Years, 11 Months ago
surely NOT to do so is discriminatory?

Indeed yes and that was my missposted point above`s point.(wrong box again)..
And surely a disabled person would win due to the guilt factor, which is also not correct.
I predict a thread......

I've got a great idea, why not have some "Normal" people in the BB house for once, instead of the hand-picked selection of freaks and attention seekers. Now that would be a novelty, and also someone over 40.

This idea would be excellent.......... 17 Years, 11 Months ago
Put ten Elvis impersonaters in the house, but one of the ten is actually an actor, pretending to be an impersonator of an impersonator.
Now that, would be compelling viewing!

You mean like a kind of... well... reality TV show? I think it might work

I always wonder where the "reality" is supposed to be. Like JK I can't watch it.

Jackie Stallone was in the celebrity big brother, which tends to have older people in it. George Galloway, Pete Burns, and Michael Barrymore were the stars of this years Celebrity bb. They are all well over 40, but the bb makers don't seem to be heeding the message. I guess the main bb is just about exposing a bit of flesh!!

and deprive them of their brylcreem if they fail a task!

Jackie Stallone was the best ever, like something from a John Waters movie. Her reason for nominating Bez was "I don't know his name and I can't understand anything he says. He could be speaking Chinese for all I know and he has bad teeth, people with bad teeth bother me" She made up for the sight of John McCririck in his long johns

I once was booked to gig at an Elvis fan club convention.. 17 Years, 11 Months ago
..and I have never seen such a vast collection of "Elvi", standing around in white suits having a beer.
Completely surreal!
It must be one of the only genre where people turn up to honour their hero dressed as him.
What would make my BB idea particulary work, would be if all the housemates arrived in ordinary clothes and were sent away individualy, to get changed into their costumes, and all arrive into the central room, unaware that they were all impersonators.
Should C4, do this, and lets face it, they will have to find a new idea each year would this be exploitation of compulsive obsessive behaviour?
Another case to answer already, is a house mate leaving the house last night, after "concerns over his mental health". (this is on AOL)This was not even the guy we were talking about earlier.
BB does make me feel uneasy, if a guy was depressed or prone to depression, surely this should have been picked up on months ago. A GP can do that.

All very boring ideas. Can you really imagine watching a bunch of 'ordinary' people for 13 weeks? Can go down the pub for that, or observe your colleagues at work. Channel 4 wouldn't get the viewing figures (ref BB4 & BB5).

It's only because of Nasty Nick that the series kicked off. Otherwise it would not have survived beyond BB1. Don't you think?

As for wheelchairs, that's very stereo-typical of persons with a disability. It's obvious that in the past there have been people with mental health issues (= also disability). Pete with tourettes is interesting and the favourite to win. But how patronising if he does though? Has the sympathy vote already won it?

Especially when the guy probably doesn't want it.
