Broadmoor psychiatrists 8 Years ago
JK, I understand that you spent some time in Broadmoor but didn't like the food a lot - not quite up to Le Gavroche's standards I'm sure.

Presumably, during your stay they put you through some kind of psychoanalysis? Are you prepared to tell us what conclusions they came too?

Never in Broadmoor - why would I have been? It was Belmarsh. The glorious inaccuracy of the Internet!

I went to psychiatrists after my release as a condition of parole and they all said I was the most normal person they had ever met.

My mum sent me to a shrink when I was 14 for various reasons and he said I was normal and she was nuts.

Part of the bizarre thinking about 'sex'.. the authorities and tabloids claim you are both mentally sick and /or uncontrollable pervert..but of course if you are sick and that controls your behaviour then they are sub-human for punishing you for being ill.

Yes, I too was once told to see a shrink after I was falsely accused of stalking. A break down ensued due to the stress of the trials and the local gossips, so I went to see a shrink of my own admission. He told me there was nothing wrong with me at all after just two hours and all that was needed was a good long break in warm sunshine. So there I was stretched out on a sun lounger in Southern France, whilst my accuser haunted the hills of a bleak Northern landscape plotting his next batch of lies.

When I look back that wretched individual tried to destroy me completely. Which is why I have such empathy with the people here including JK of course. If a person or people are hellbent on destruction of your life, you need all the strength of character you can muster to fight back. Thankfully in my case as in others here, far from being destroyed I came back stronger than ever. But sadly that's not the case for everyone.

I reckon I'm the most normal person I've ever met - which is, I assume, normal.

Well, I know there are plenty of oddballs in the music business, so, maybe you've been using them as a yardstick...

My mother found out (can't recall how) that I had had an LSD trip when I was 16 and demanded I see a psychiatrist as she thought I was going mad.

I agreed, to keep the peace.

She chose a venerable old Swiss man with wild grey hair in his late 70s.

He wanted to know all about my "trip" and then described some of his "trips" and we discussed different aspects of LSD..he had been taking it for years.

He concluded with "I'll tell your mother you're sane".
