We have a brand new Little Waitrose in the petrol station at the end of my road!

No, actually Pru, there always was quite a good mini market there. My worry was that Waitrose would abandon the petrol station (very useful for me over 43 years; my local fillup). It's the same size under the hotel above; but with a much better selection of product (24/7... meats and ices, wine and spirits, fresh bread etc).

Now if it had turned into a MacDonalds...

Waitrose is a good supermarket,pricey of course,but quality goods and good service.

A new 7 Eleven opened in my road a few weeks ago. I haven't stopped celebrating.
