Well Martin; I did the following yesterday... 17 Years, 8 Months ago  
Breasts of chicken slowly and lightly poached in broth with herbs and black peppercorns; five minutes before they were completed I placed a thick slice of Stilton cheese on top of each so they melted slowly and ate them with new potatoes in butter and baby asparagus.
It was DELICIOUS - and very Italian!

I just bought Madhur Jaffreys "Ultimate Curry Bible". Fascinating stuff, I have been stuck in it since we got back, and although I have allways seen her as the one person that got me into spicy food, her essays are brilliant, but I find her recipe writings lacking somewhat. But, she does explain vindaloo correctly(pickled meat as opposed to very hot curry for lager louts), and the advent of the food in the bun is a very good chapter.
The americans did appear NOT to invent the hamburger.(Shock horror!)
Your dinner last night sounded good JK, lets now try and ban the microwave..how can we eat food that is still cooking as we swallow it ? ugh....
