It could not have gone better, run smoother, moved us more, been splendid for Team GB, made several athletes superstars, great for Tom, Mo, Jess, Vicky - and most of all Danny Boyle (looking forward to tomorrow's closing ceremony) and Seb Coe - well done Seb; you did it!

Not to Party Poop with another reality check.
But never mind 'Damned Good Show' Overture & Curtain-Up to Fine Finale; plus Dame E. E's Warm-Closure.
Try these links for a very oddly mainstream unreported eye-OPENING ending, to unending, unseen Olympic-medal sized exploitation ongoing unchecked.
First this from Jules Boykoff, former pro soccer-player who represented the US Olympic team. Now an associate professor of political science at Pacific University, Oregon. Writing on activism, climate change, and the politics of sports, he is author of 'Beyond Bullets/The Suppression of Dissent in the United States', and co-author of 'Landscapes of Dissent/Guerrilla Poetry and Public Space': " Security officials are exploiting the Olympics as a once-in-a-generation opportunity to multiply and militarise their weapon stocks, laminating another layer on to the surveillance state.”

It was a successful fortnight but what will it achieve for London?
Doubt more tourists will come but it was nice seeing Londoners celebrate.
Now come the bill at which time In The Know returns to say ' I told you so'.

Too true JK.
Rockin Red Ken, Beckham & Co (plus Coe) nailed it in '05, then the BLiar-Brown brigade humped the first HARD 5-years of work. Just in time for opportunist BIG BUFFOON BORIS (blond spider from afar) to claim the gory-glory with, in our nous, not a nod to the pre-'010 mob.
Meanwhile we also wonder why Alf's World Cup'66 and-all-that Wingless-Wonder-Winners, Banks-Hurst et al weren't name-checked ?
Cept of course they're all-Anglos not the Godhead 'Team-GB'. CONveniently forgetting that the bulk of O-medals came from Anglos, plus Rockin Jocks, Wacky Paddys, Top Taffs etc.
And, a crowning GOLD finale from lonely long-runner Farah ex-far off SomaliLand - STILL not formally recognised by ex-Empire Bullshit Blighty God Almighty !
