I'm not known for encouraging cover-ups (!!!) but a thought struck me as I read today about the latest British soldier killed in Afghanistan.

As is usual, the news of the death was reported yesterday - but the name witheld until the family had been informed.

Under these circumstances, does that not cause worry and anxiety for ALL families of soldiers overseas? Until the name is officially announced, everyone will worry that it is their family member involved?

Mayve just one occasion when the "news" could be delayed until the name can be announced at the same time?
