Is he paying royalties for his new song to the Supremes (Holland Dozier) or Vanilla Fudge or Phil Collins or is he intending to keep them hanging on?

I presume you're referring to Magnetised due to the "keep them hanging on" quote ("Here I Am" is his latest).

Are you suggesting he should pay royalties for using the lyric, "Keep me hanging on"?

That's the one; plus he's clearly been listening to too much Coldplay.

Yeah it is very Coldplay but I couldn't disagree with you more about paying royalties to others because he's used the phrase, "keep me hanging on", so what? It's a popular phrase.

The Blurred Lines lawsuit set an ugly precedence that means just about any new song could be accused of ripping off something else. Uptown Funk had to be split because of the line, "Don’t believe me just watch", again, a popular phrase.

How many songs use the same phrases? Loads! There are loads of songs with the same titles, it's practically unavoidable. If someone works out who originally wrote the line, "put your hands in the air like you just don't care", there could be literally 100's of lawsuits!
