And so well deserved. Before the Dawn is a remarkable recollection of what were truly remarkable shows.

I saw the show and was astounded- the only word for it.

Over the last 2 years, I have contented myself with listening to pretty good quality audio and video bootlegs, but the quality of the sound on the actual album is fantastic*. I like the fact that she declared upfront that it contains no overdubs and no re-recordings.

The recording itself is wonderfully mixed to the extent that it almost reproduces the surround sound in the theatre on the night. And the musicianship, including people who have played with Peter Gabriel, Miles Davis and the like, was amazing.

Bush's voice is awesome. She may not be able to hit the heights of Wuthering Heights (she wasn't going to perform it anyway) but on some songs, such as Hounds of Love, or King of the Mountain, she lets out an almost primeval scream.

I actually do think this album is her masterpiece.
