One of the things lacking with much today's music is variation of texture and tone, as they aren't exposed to the huge variety of types of music the 'Rock Generations' were, and 'light music' in particular has gone completely AWOL - yet was ever-present when the really creative musicians were seemingly everywhere we turned.
