TOPIC: What's missing?

What's missing? 6 Years, 10 Months ago
Listening to an Everly's hit - one of the many different things about today's music is - missing harmonies. I love harmonies - Everlys dominated but I thought the Hollies were just as good for British music. These days, even on melodic hits like those by Adele or Ed Sheeran - no (or very few) harmonies. If I were still producing, I'd change that.

Then please start producing.

Most recorded voices in pop now are so processed and auto-tuned that they sound barely human.
Every pop group/star/producer in the 40 year 'Golden Age' knew the magic of backing vocals & harmonies. Music now has hooks but no magic, it's become the sounds of narcissism & brain damage.

Yes I don't mind different things being tried and done (though some like auto-tune I don't like) but why desert some other aspects and good harmonies can really enhance a vocal.
