TOPIC: Every year

Every year 6 Years, 1 Month ago
Around this time I find myself singing one of the best records of all time - Roll Away The Stone by Mott The Hoople (with my friend Lyndsey Le Paul on it) from 1974.

On the TOTP video (where the audience moves)
The girl in the green cardi shalalalapushing is Boycie's wife Marlene in Only fools and horses.

I agree. A great song. Seeing Mott The Hoople in the early 1970s is the main reason I decided I wanted to get into the Music Industry. Mott split in 1974 and didn't play together again for 35 years, when they played 5 nights at the Hammersmith Apollo. The only time the original line-up got back together. The band reformed again in 2013 (minus Buffin the drummer) for a short tour including the London O2 Arena. Since then Buffin and their bass player Overend Watts have passed away. The lead singer, Ian Hunter has toured and released some fabulous solo albums since. Ian is playing 3 European Gigs as Mott The Hoople in June. He is joined by Ariel Bender (Lead guitar who replaced the original Mick Ralphs who went on to form Bad Company) and Morgan Fisher (Ex Love Affair, who replaced original keyboard player Verdan Allen). Not the classic Mott line-up, but should be worth seeing.

Ian Hunter will be 78 this year, but is still a wperformer.

OK a reminder to radio programmers (not the brightest lot these days)... one of the few occasions where a topical link might improve your schedules.

He is looking in good shape, all things considered.

Not much Easter music, is there?
