Elvis Costello cancels a gig. 3 Weeks, 2 Days ago
It seems to happen more and more these days; that concerts are getting cancelled.

When they do get cancelled you are told in advance not last minute, it's people that have booked hotels or train fares are the ones who lose out.

There needs to be some sort of insurance so you can cancel or get a refund if you are using hotels for concerts that get cancelled.

Is the venue double booked or there is a double booking with Elvis Costello?

There was a package tour with Hue & Cry, T'pau and Paul Young that was pulled out of the blue, despite selling out in a lot of theatres and there was a lot of publicity also. There were scheduling conflicts but also I did hear that one of the bands pulled out.

Booking.com often has the ability to cancel on the day of your stay if you give 24 hours notice, also the Premier Inn has a flexible stay price, which is slightly higher, but allows you to cancel with a full refund on the same day. When you book a train on the trainline you can get insurance for a couple of quid, but I think you can only cancel if you're ill

It depends on the hotel also. Getting refund on train fares is a lot of hassle, they try put you off and sometimes want evidence.
