Just want to give a quick plug to great radio station broadcasting online.
They broadcast from the black country in the West Midlands and they started
out as a pirate radio station popular 89-93
Simon B's Friday Night sing-a-long every Friday night 8-10 is a must listen
the craziest show on the radio.
All shows NEW and ones from back in the day are available on the website to
listen again
and there's a whatsapp chatroom where they ask you to GIVE THE WHATSAPP A BASH!

Hi MCR, I just took your advice and gave it a listen at 9.50pm tonight, Friday, and caught the last 10 minutes of that show you mentioned. I immediately liked the energy, it sounded alive and interesting, just like I remember commercial radio being in the 1980's actually. But perhaps that was because the first three tracks I heard were This Ole House, Uptown Girl and Do The Conga, not sure on what basis they were the top three in the countdown I caught there.

Have they been broadcasting continually for the past 36 years then, first on FM and now online?

No they were a pirate station in the late 80s-early 90s, haven't broadcast since at least 1993
reported short transmission in 95.
They came back online last year.
