Very interesting and almost beyond belief - both that Sussex Police can justify behaving like this (I blame the media which has encouraged British police to conspire in order to get a good story) and that the CPS can decide to prosecute - with the weasel words they always justify such decisions. But the frightening thing is - there are dozens of similar cases where the poor victim ended up in jail, another head on the spike placed there by the False Allegations Industry.

I was not previously aware of this, though of course there is no particular reason why I would have been.

On a similar note, one risks being dragged in front of a judge if one were to dare to identify 'Nick', even though his claims have been dismissed as fantasy.

Is it legally (or indeed morally) fair and justifiable to have anonymity for life for fantasy claimants?

it was the legal suppression of all testimony in defence of a hounded scapegoat that led to the rise of Herr Hitler and his bloodthirsty thugs in 1933. We now know that they lied their way to power and, ultimately, to genocide. They got there because of the suppression of free speech, not because of its expression.

Those who question the posthumous defamation of a man who can no longer defend his reputation are, for the time being, as suppressed and caricatured as those who dared to challenge hysterical Nazi propaganda against the Jews.

But as the old saying has it, the truth will out. We may all be food for worms by then in a worst case scenario, but the Daily Mail, The Telegraph and The Spectator, to mention but a few, are showing promising signs of much-needed scepticism.

Watching all the goings on is like watching a giant oil tanker turn around in a tight spot......it is turning though! Even Max Hastings talks about the 'Savile revelations' now, not the 'Savile allegations' - or worse. It may take your lifetime, and it will certainly take my lifetime, but the truth will come out.

Yes. You expect some incompetence, and some unscrupulousness, and some mistakes, but when it is organised and deliberate it becomes something else entirely.

At least people do seem to be on the verge of realising what is going on.
