Samantha Fox/David Cassidy. 6 Years, 4 Months ago

She says he put his tongue down her throat and his hand up her skirt.

But why would you wait until someone is dead before telling the story? And why the hell would you choose to upset a grieving family?
It is nasty.

Bit Sam was very cute as was David 30 years ago.
And Cassidy was so tiny he would be about at mouth height to Sam. Perhaps he never got many chances for mouth-to-mouth as he only came up to most people's nipples.
Still always best to get the body buried and services over before one tries to cash in.
# One day I must tell you how I slept next o a coffin and there was a body in it. I didn't know.

Including this anecdote in the book does seem a rather low thing to do, but she's not exactly the epitome of class. It would be interesting to know whether she had it in the book all along and the book therefore couldn't be published until he died or whether it has been added to the book since his death.
I hardly think that she was waiting for him to die before she could publish the autobiography. He was only 67, he could of lived for another 20+ years, for all anyone knew. She could however coincidentally added the anecdote now that he has died and rushed out the autobiography whilst the news of his death is still fresh. Cassidy hasn't been in the news for decades, other than the occasional comeback tour, and bankruptcy which raised little interest.
From what people say about his personality, he was very sweet natured, and shy, and definitely not the person to randomly grope women in ladies public toilets.

I met him once at a Wham party- he was with the great show biz writer David Wigg.
He was extremely nice and I reckon very shy.
I know someone who did a long interview with him for Rolling Stone when he was at the peak of fame. He was horrified at the idea of inviting groupies back to his room.
I'm not sure I believe this tale..never heard talk about him like this. Always seemed to be with one person and never strayed.

Stories of streetwise women defending themselves against men's wandering hands or lustful intentions don't seem as popular with readers anyway compared with stories of women responding in totally helpless ways.
I'd like to point out that the operative word I intended my comment to be based on here was "stories". Whether stories are true or false doesn't seem to matter as much to many readers as their power in arousing emotions such as outrage and fear. I have no academic study or detailed statistical analysis to support this view, it's based on reader responses I've seen to a few stories containing details of women taking responsibility for their own lives. I may be totally wrong but I get the feeling that many readers tend to find these types of stories staid, boring and possibly even a little threatening. On the other hand, many seem mesmerised by clearcut accounts of women "overpowered" by men and in desperate need of being rescued when no help is in sight.
Here is another recent "streetwise woman" story:
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5013261...de-him.html#comments
I remember seeing this amongst a cluster of other Weinstein stories on the Daily Mail Online page a few weeks ago. Along side it was the story of a woman who claimed Harvey Weinstein raped her after he "ripped out her tampon". I checked the comments section of these two stories several times throughout the day. The newspaper editors may have limited the amount of comments for the Juliette Binoche story but readers can still click the arrows. The rape story seemed to attract so many more emotionally charged up type responses.
