The more I see of him the more I like him. Putting adult social care at the heart of his campaign is the right thing to do. He might not deliver fully, but at least the intention is there. Sadly the public doesn't have a choice, unless they join the conservative party and vote for the leader, but really who wants to do that.
Funny enough I did...
...but he has nothing on the way forward with Brexit....we need to deliver democracy...then move forward..which is where he may well play a part...but with the Tories polling third, whoever is their leader it will not matter...they will never get elected if they fail to deliver by Halloween...
He has ruled out no deal...which means he had nothing to negotiate with...following that path is stupidity...even Trump took a swipe at those who got us in that mess...and I doubt Boris would do much better...
Goodness how much I waffle
Hope all is well Robbie.
I don't think polling matters that much after the the eu elections, when it comes to first past the post elections, people will vote either blue or red.
Funnily enough I think he may be able to persuade some labour members to vote for May's deal or a slight variation of it. Everyone says that Mays deal is bad, but basically it delivers on leaving the european union and stopping freedom of movement which was what most people would have voted on. With regards to the customs union, I don't remember any Vox Pops mentioning this at all. Boris was a disastrous foreign secretary extending the prsion sentence of Zaghari-Radcliffe, and as London Mayor he did nothing except ban drinking on the underground, compared to Ken who introduced London travel zones and congestion charging, both life changing ideas. He has been speaking to those Labour mps in the 63% of Labour constituencies that voted to leave, such as Lisa Nandy and are disgusted (rightly so in my view) with the prospect of a second referendum and ignoring the vote of the first one.
You have to remember that parliament will never vote for a no-deal brexit, so aiming for that is pointless. The Eu have already said that they will not renogoiate the deal, so the fact that no-deal is still on the table is irrelevant. The only solution in my view is to persuade Labour members to agree to the deal. Labour members in leave constituencies (i.e. most of them) are becoming frustrated with the lack of progress on Brexit and don't want a damaging no deal brexit.
I may just join you in joining the party and voting for Rory (you don't say who you will vote for) and stop the car crash of Boris becoming pm. If he does then I would immediately leave again.
You obviously haven't been following General Election polling Robbie...and its 3 months after you join the Tories before you can vote...so save the money...and buy yourself a beer...
Nearly lunchtime here...now that means work...sadly...
Is there anything to stop us all joining all the main parties now, so we have a say in time for the next fiasco?
Yes...it's a waste of money

I made that public...but did notice fb keep giving different URLs.. so perhaps it works on mine, but not others...try it,could lead back to me...or I'll wait till I have access to a proper PC a bit later on this trip.

Brexit: Rory Stewart says new deal claims 'misleading'
The time to do deals is long gone...but rory had a car crash interview on I think lbc recently...
Any Tory who puts back Brexit pulls the self destruct button...no deal is the only option...and anybody who thinks you can negotiate...but rule out no deal is a complete fool..
Rory is still a remainer...great of you believe in that...but pretending to be the other is catching up with him..
Good evening Jo...must say I'm more interested in the demise of MWT than the Tory party😂

Perhaps Johnson is taking a leaf out of Farage's book in that respect.
This is interesting: Rory Stewart: 'The secret of modern Britain is there is no power anywhere'
When he was on Question Time the other week I thought that he spoke a lot of sense but noticed that didn't get much applause from the audience. Perhaps he lacks the necessary superficiality and charisma. As for his looks, is he really worse looking than Johnson or Gove? I don't think so.
