Cardinal George Pell- as I feared 4 Years, 8 Months ago
The rumblings I heard from Melbourne's legal fraternity in the days leading up to the announcement of George Pell's appeal finding were not good and I subsequently knew it was not to be,

I love Melbourne- it's a most European city with great nightlife and superb restaurants. Live theatre thrives and the city has beautiful old theaters reminiscent of London's West End. I love it's wide streets and the largest tram network in the world which makes traveling around so wonderful. It's a very civilized city of 5 million- just about right.

Melburnians are polite and friendly. It's always had the very best shopping in Oz ever since the 1800s Gold Rush when it became the richest City on Earth for a few decades. Wandering around the central Melbourne shopping district is not to dissimilar to Rome.

Over the past few years we have heard however that Victorian Police corruption made the legendary NSW corrupt cops or "the White Nights " as they were referred to (2 now in jail for life for murder) look like amateurs.
Corrupt Melbourne cops working hand in hand with The Mafia even forced 2 of their honest Commissioners to resign.
And dodgy Melbourne Pell hating cops have driven this fiasco. The media of course joined in.

It seeps into the legal fraternity. As now exposed- the lawyer for a slew of Victoria's gangsters was also a police grass..helping corrupt cops pick and choose who to bust. During the past 15/20 years about 40 murders happened as gangsters rubbed each other out aided by hidden hands of bent police- two were even blasted to death with shotguns in front of their children playing footie on a Saturday afternoon.

The female judge reading out Pell's appeal result seem to be thriving on it. Her reasoning was flawed as the one dissenting judge, looking grim, has now written his belief that Pell is innocent.

This is highly unusual.

I hope Pell takes the case to the High Court in Canberra. It's often the only way to get away from State corruption. He would win there.

## Watching this entire case unfold over the years as a non religious person- it's taken me a long to realize the sheer hatred against Catholics in Australia and the long history of it- imported of course from the UK.

A writer from the top US Catholic newspaper takes on the entire debacle:
## I admire the Pell supporters- the venom they have to pout up with is extraordinary.

The Australian Disgrace

There will be much more to be said in the weeks and months ahead about the rejection of Cardinal George Pell’s appeal of his conviction for “historic sexual abuse,” by the 2-1 vote of a three-judge panel of the Supreme Court of Victoria. For the moment, this astonishing, indeed incomprehensible, decision calls into the gravest doubt the quality of justice in Australia—and the possibility of any Catholic cleric charged with sexual abuse to receive a fair trial or a fair consideration of the probity of his trial.
