TOPIC: My latest theory on Covid19

Re:My latest theory on Covid19 3 Years, 8 Months ago
I suspect a bit of the “please the parents” type perfectionist syndrome going on here as there have been many stories since March about how successful these countries have been in keeping death figures low.

Locking down whole countries can’t go on forever. Even a few staunch advocates of this method have broken the rules. Wrapping young people in cotton wool can't be good for strenghtening their immune systems.

One thing clear is that the weather has something to do with the rise and fall of cases.

Why does it have to be teams of "those of us who think its a trivial virus" and "those of us who think we are all doomed"?

None of us actually know anything. All we can do is wait and see. (while inwardly seething. )

I am somewhere in the middle. Trivial or catastrophic, it makes no difference. It is still a ridiculous farce and the "safety measures" make no sense at all either way.

I get where you are coming from Honey, but disagree that "none of us know anything" and we should just see how it pans out.

The low mortality rate (recently revised down in UK) as opposed to infections is known, those particularly vulnerable are known, the impact of lockdown is beginning to be felt and reasonably predictable as disastrous short and long term.

I think it is therefore reasonable to have an opinion about whether our response to Covid has been merited or not; particularly given the impact on generations to come.

Totally agree with you on safety measures.

Any way I look at it masks rules utterly baffle me.

Oh dont get me started on the stupid masks!

If you were actually PLANNING to infect as many people as possible, what could be better than removing the two metre distance rule and replace it with an old sock under your chin?

And yes, we can all see that the figures are bollocks.
I was added to it last week at the hospital for an illness I had at the beginning of the year. It was very severe, I was briefly in hospital, and admittedly it was unlike anything else, but they retrospectively diagnosed me, (I was there for something unrelated) and gave me an antibody test which they said would probably be negative after so much time.

So I am on the "tested for" list, and also the "diagnosed with" list and there is nothing bloody wrong with me!

I dont think the lockdown and bullyingsafety measures were justified, and if they were, it should have been a co-ordinated total lockdown to get it over with in a couple of weeks.
The current farce is not needed, and is pointless, and I cant believe that anyone in power really believes it is.

What I don't know, is what it is all for?

I agree with you Hedda; boring. Except - the fact that so many, including "experts" and "politicians" have been taken in (as by the False Allegations Industry) means the repercussions are extraordinary and will be for decades to come; all based on incorrect assumptions.

I've ignored it and have relaxed on holiday in the sun. You seem to have done the same except in gloriously empty Australia.

But sadly, thanks to media, there's lot worse to come. Hopefully for other people and you and I (and WYOT) will continue to find it boring (for us).

But if we care for the gullibles and the sheeples, we need to keep pointing out that the Emperor is naked.

indeed the very first one was a drive thru almost on the beach at Bondi and went thru on the first day.

Tested 3 times since with 3 short hospital stays but the poor nurses and doctors..all with masks and screens for a 7 hour shift . Cleaners, porters etc as well.

I find the masks suffocating and sales persons often have no idea what I'm talking about.
(mind you before the masks as well)

I don't think it is for anything.

The media created an almighty fearful storm and politicians followed too frightened not to look "tough".

Still the same today.

Media determine the broad thrust of policy, Govs react.

Some more competently than others; UK disastrously.
