Sir Starmer and The Granny Harmers plummetted like a stone down the charts on this weeks new chart released tonight (Friday 27th) going into new year, falling 45 places from No37 to No82.

Band Aid 40 crept into the top ten again at No9, but not beating the peak three weeks ago of eight.

Wham! Last Christmas held No1 for the third week, and now 10th week non consecutively at No1 since 2020. At this rate if it keeps up the popularity it's possible that within the next three or four years it could go from being the biggest seller never to make No1 to the chart topper with the most weeks if it can get past the 18 non consecutive weeks that I Believe by Frankie Laine did in 1953 just before the rock 'n' roll era blew in.

I'm also fascinated by the popularity of Bobby Helms at a new chart peak of No5, and Brenda Lee another high of No4.

....and next week they all evaporate into thin air as if Christmas never happened!
