So the circus continues. I have no idea whether the man is guilty or not
but I do know that society seems terrified to consider the possibility that people DO lie in order to make loads of money, be it through compensation or future media fees, and that there are many other reasons for inventing or inflating encounters, from genuine delusion to a desire for revenge or for attention and sympathy. What's the betting that, if another bimbo approaches someone like Max with a Beckham affair story, he tells her, helpfully, that there's no more to be made from THAT story but if, of course, she's been RAPED (and only if it was true, of course, as he told the Hamiltons woman) she should go to the police and THEN he'd represent her. It's a murky world down there, at the bottom of the sea of false allegations. |
