Drugs and Death

Bowie, Prince, George Michael, Carrie Fisher... and so many more of the generation that decided to experiment with drugs.

When I was a teenager I entered two worlds where drugs were dominant - University and Music. I thought about it at great length; all my friends were doing drugs. But I decided not to and became tolerated and fondly mocked (Eric Burdon of the Animals nicknamed me King Loon as I always drank milk in the clubs).

I guided many friends (including John Lennon) through LSD Acid journeys because they knew I would be stone cold sober and able to deal with any problems like police arriving or bad trips.

The reason I decided not to indulge (or smoke nicotine and only slightly drink alcohol) was because I worried that these chemicals might do things to my mind and body that were dangerous.

I must tell you - I think I was right (I don't even like having to take all the prescription drugs that old age insists upon).

The stories I could tell you about stars and drugs...

Perhaps another day.
