hedda saw it for the second time last night at the cinema with a friend. It's much better on the big screen.

Still think it's wonderful although there isn't much of a story..after all Liberace didn't really do that much and mostly spent his life in Las Vegas.

It's really from Scott Thorsen's viewpoint and he didn't paint himself as a hero

piece on youtube about his house:

robbiex I really liked this film, granted there isn't much of a story, but the two main actors (Matt Damon and Michael Douglas) provide career best performances. Damon is 41, playing 18 and carries it off.

There are many funny scenes like the surgeon played by Rob Lowe.

It got rave reviews from the critics, but didn't even get a cinema release in the USA, because it was deemed as being too gay in the homophobic USA.
hedda I was at a party he came to in London- wearing a long cape, mask and actually carrying a candelabra. didn't meet him though.
JK2006 No Andrew - but met Ray (charming) and heard stories from Michael who said Lee was a sweetie.
andrew Did you ever meet him JK ?
