Over the past 68 years we've been ruled by wankers. Democracy simply does not work. The majority vote for slick, superficial charm and tabloid headline policies.

I take my state pension and put petrol in my Rolls Royce, sticking my finger up at a government that has allowed liars to benefit from our laws and lazy cops and bent lawyers to profit from easy convictions.[/quote]

You are quite right, JK, that while interest is depressed then savers continue to lose out - but the alternative is higher interest and maybe a million people would lose their homes and have them repossessed. As a politician which would you choose?
