on a slightly different note ... interesting isn't it, how France is now "American's oldest ally" when just before the Iraq invasion (which they opposed !) they were vilified by the Americans LOL !

The evidence includes satellite imagery, allegedly showing the attacks were launched from government-controlled areas, a French government source told the Reuters news agency.

However, the government source said: "Unlike previous attacks that used small amounts of chemicals and were aimed at terrorising people, this attack was tactical and aimed at regaining territory."

Earlier, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said MPs would be given every piece of evidence the government has, including information that has been classified until now.

The intelligence will be released publicly following a meeting of top government and security officials, with MPs expected to debate the evidence on Wednesday.

French President Francois Hollande can order military action without parliamentary approval.

Mr Reason Hmmmm......embattled President with a faded economic outlook, poor poll numbers and a generally lame duck scenario in France..........and the news from France is that French spies have all the evidence to support action against Syria....a rattle of the sabre from a usually passive country when it come to getting involved.

I suggest that the process of France getting involved is to a good degree, driven by the desperation of a President trying to salvage something from somewhere, somehow........and that this action or proposed support for action is out of character and not based on international concern for Syrians.......

I know the French. They usually need 3 copies of paperwork, signed by 12 people, and agreed by all senior staff before anything is even discussed.........let alone proposed and acted upon. It's out of character for them to lead, they need cajoling to offer support and so I don't see the words from Hollande as credible on behalf of the French nation

Just my view
