Corporal Hedda I had one grandfather who was a Polish Jewish German citizen who fled to the UK after witnessing one Brown Shirt demonstration and the rise of the Nazi Party (much like Ralph Miliband).

He was fairly uneducated but quite clever and eventually emigrated to Australia in 1949 and made a fortune as the first importer of Volkswagens which he delighted in claiming as his 'revenge'. He called the dealership the House Of David !

he always talked about the "small incremental steps..." that he quietly watched happening...one being the banning of Jewish doctors and dentists (about a third of those practising) which resulted in Germans having rotten teeth during WW2.
