As we see European leaders "horrified" that their phones have been tapped, I feel rather as I felt over the hysteria about celebrity hacking, Leveson and all the fuss... can any celebrity or politician ever have doubted the leakability of communication?
I've been famous for almost 50 years. I'd never have said anything I wanted confidential on the phone, put it on paper or, recently, said it online.
What's the fuss about? Assume, whether intentional or accidental, that if you broadcast it, people will hear it. even speaking in public places needs to be discreet. Basic common sense.
It is common sense, but unfortunately we now have idiot teachers who can't even teach this to teenagers these days. They seem to have absolutely no awareness that their tweets, facebook posts etc are easy to access by anyone. And everything these days, from the media too the law, is geared to indulge the stupidity of the population. |

Human Rights Act challenges now inevitable
A can of worms which will be open for years
With many familiar faces involved, worldwide
The Yorkshire and Gloucestershire hubs will be central and critical
But, I can't see the Pentagon or the mysterious Area 54 being too forthcoming
However, US embassy activities will soon bear a lot of scrutiny

And surely we all knew it, including those now expressing outrage and spending time, effort and cash on this silly subject; I suppose they will set up a commission or inquiry to look into it; which will cost millions. Perhaps Brian Leveson might be free to chair it. That'll sort them. |
