andrew I met some very nice people in prison who had committed dreadful crimes. Hate the crime, like the person.
My dad has befriended some violent ex cons, they met just taken dogs out for a walk. I recently met one of them told me ghastly crimes he and his gang did, very horrific stuff. He said to my dad, my girlfriend and me your all part of my family.

I know exactly what JK means.

Are you seriously comparing a couple of eccentrics with mass murderers?

No imp. Just somewhat intrigued by a few things, as a taxpayer...

- the Hamiltons lied and took bribes

- they are probably nice people

- the cost of the Court cases to the tax payer was significant

- they milked everything (media etc./every last bit)

- to fund an ongoing high lifestyle

- they still are on the 'talk circuit' and have written about their exploits.... 2/3 books, numerous articles,TV appearances et all.

Crime doesn't pay?

In the Hamilton's case I think they are successful despite the crime, not because of it.

It doesn't necessarily stop them being "nice" though. Sometimes bad people do good things and good people do bad things

So honey - do you think that Brady, Nielsen and the Wests could really be nice people?

Apart from the horrific crimes, quite possibly. You also have to take into account mental illness which might mean that people are not in control of their actions.

JK2006 But Honey's point is spot on; I met some very nice people in prison who had committed dreadful crimes. Hate the crime, like the person.
