JK2006 I just sent this to a friend...

I do wonder whether my critical senses have declined as I've grown old; I've seen about 4-5 movies over the past month and thought every one of them was magnificent. Either there's been a genuine huge improvement in every area (because I thought most aspects were better than usual - script, acting, direction, camerawork, music, sound, editing, sets, makeup) or I'm losing my faculties (quite possible).

Captain Phillips, Blue Jasmine, Le Weekend, Philomena, Gravity - loved them all without one minute of looking at my watch.
JK2006 I don't know if it's just me getting old and my quality control going on my taste buds or if it's correct that there are some terrific films out at the moment. I've seen four or five, all wonderful. Gravity is absolutely great, gripping, well made, exciting - and really 2013.
