A, now VERY non-PC yet so apt phrase comes to mind, though not for the weak-minded.

It seems that the two attempted murders took place in Hereford, a long way away from the fens. Joanna was stabbing random men in the street.
The latest news I can find is that having cut her trial short by pleading guilty, she has restated her guilt - much to her lawyers' chagrin. I bet they saw a juicy protracted trial.
But what happens now? This is all news from last November. When does the jury return a verdict and when is she going to be sentenced? |

One of the dead guys was her landlord, the others were her flatmates. |
The Fat Controller |
It is possible she killed them while they slept. Very few murders involve arm to arm combat. Not at all suggesting that is what happened. Purely a journey into possibility. Motives are another area entirely. |

I've been following this for a while, since it's fairly local to me. Her boyfriend, a Mr Gary Stretch is a mere seven foot three inches tall and built like the proverbial outhouse, a much more likely suspect than she is, but it seems the police didn't have evidence that he was the culprit, only an accessory after the fact. He has been charged, but denies three charges of preventing burial and two attempted murders.
On her part, she shocked her barrister by admitting to the three murders, and the two attempted murders. It sounds more like there's a huge stack of evidence and she decided to cut the court appearances short. It could be she's taking a fall for Gary over the two attempted murders, but why were the police looking specifically for her? They warned the public she was dangerous.
My interest in the case was that reporting was very sparse after she'd been arrested, whereas if it had been Gary Stretch as the main suspect, I'm sure the tabloids would never have stopped drooling over it. Let's face it five murders/attempted murders puts you in the big league. I wonder what the motives were, obviously not random unless she's a total fruitcake, but if that were the case, surely a plea would have been made? |
