Politicians promise to abolish all sorts of things but it seldom happens

Labour like universal benefits - but are now rowing back from that, saying some benefits should be stopped for wealthier people (ie people who have worked, saved, been responsible and not pissed their money against a wall).

How long before this is extended to "middle earners" then also all people?

They know they can't afford their promises - they are just hoping that some people are too stupid to work it out !

Even if Labour get back into power in a few years i very much doubt they will honor many of their promises. They're simple sound bites, oppose, rather than construct.

Labour say they will abolish it, people say it's fair thing to do, loads hate it. Personally it's a good idea people can always save for a deposit and go private.

I think most people object to the administration of the "cuts" rather than the principal.
