It's rather awful that some celebrity, can be brought down by lies & blackmail, by false accusers & (like has been said before) the real victims & real abuse cases, slip through the police net.
As we know, the majority of abuse happens between families. The dodgy Uncle. The dodgy older brother. The peculiar Aunt. The peculiar older sister.
And (more truth & I can back it up). Individuals that in the pre-PC days that were described as "backward" tend to be oversexed. In the 1980s I used to deliver to one of those "special" factories, designed to employ people that were not too clever, or had mental deficiences. Most times I delivered there, I saw various employees rolling around on the floor, with one another in compremising positions. Quite eyeopening & nobody really battered an eyelid about it.
Whether mentally retarded people are more likely to be abusers in a family surrounding is not forthcoming, but in many a relatives case, it is proof to me. Uncle (in his 40s) gets jail for apparent abuse on his son. Cousin is charged with 2 cases of rape, on his child & previously his sister. Other Uncle rapes niece. My mother raped by her father at 6 years of age. 3 Aunts raped by their brother. Aunt's husband has regular sex with his daughter & actually had 10 kids, by my Aunt. Was he just addicted to sex? All this took place between 1940 & 1995 & on all occasions, the men involved went to "special" schools.
It seems to have been a more regular occurence in families in the past...But in those days, hardly any family member went to court. So, the real criminals got away it & still do, unless you're some set up Celebrity aka Gary Glitter & Glitter was also a School tearaway, who went to a "special" school. And his only "real" major crime was the dodgy images. Plus 0of course) the set up News Of The World job. But I doubt he's anywhere near as bad, as some family members, that always get away with it, because they're "family". |

This year false (or true) allegations will be made against top politicians, judges, police officers and, yes, editors and the resulting scandals will prompt a change in legislation - for financial reasons. I suspect the first will be against a dead person - probably former Prime Minister Edward Heath. Police won't be able to hush it up ("You will be believed") and the floodgates will spring open. |

the precedent has now been established and set in stone:
that an old man ( or lady) can be accused in death of assault and no investigation will take place and the claim will be excepted...as proclaimed by Sir Keir Starmer ( "you will be believed" ).
The Savile Precedent.
His (her) estate can be sued by eager lawyers (lawyers on both sides automatically get paid out of the estate win or lose).
Just a little knowledge of the person's life is needed, a chance or real meeting. If they are a politician or celebrity even better. Or a newspaper baron , captain of industry, "campaigning child protection expert" ( a good one that as the media will turn on that person with a vicious energy)
But any old codger who lives next door can be accused by his neighbour's kids ( ie -middle aged woman) and given today's 'feral' community more accusers will step forward.
NSW has taken one step and put a ten year statue of limitations on compensation claims (10 years from the age of 18) to howls of anguish from the 'charity' brigade.
When will reality descend upon those in power that they have made an enormous rod for their own backs and created an atmosphere for innocent victims of false accusation ? |
