hedda	good that the Lords did this. In Oz the High Court just overturned a 100 yr old precedent in the case of a woman wrongly jailed for attempt. murder for 10 years which means she can now sue the police for malicious prosecution. perhaps JK's time of accountability is near.

Gnomo	Does that mean Barry George will now get compensation - or will they restrict it to future cases, I have always thought he has been treated despicably by the legal system.
JK2006	The Government wanted to stop people granted quashed convictions on appeal getting compensation (Barry George a high profile victim of this iniquitous law). The Lords threw this out. An innocent man no longer has to prove his innocence to get compensation. Heavens - innocent until or unless proven guilty makes a small comeback. Media not very interested. I live on another planet. The human species is foreign to me.
