hedda when did this claptrap become the common language of prosecutors and why is it in "the public interest"?..when the public couldn't give a flying stuff basically what happens in the courts?

why is in the public interest to persecute old men for historic claims that happened 20/30/40 years ago when it's one person's word against another?
