JK2006	Absolutley Mr R. One of the worst decisions ever was scrapping Concorde (for no good reason - One of the safest planes ever).
Mr Reason	And one of the very few modern technological backwards steps in modern life, now that it's gone..........forward progress in most fields.....but aviation has taken a backwards move

JK2006	Inspired by the Tony Benn thread, I flew on the plane 256 times, back and forth to New York (sometimes from Paris); I adored it. Beautiful, fast, virtually always on time, great food, fascinating fellow passengers (I sat next to Rupert Murdoch for one flight, and danced with Mel Brooks down the aisle singing Springtime For Hitler on another). I was told that I beat David Frost as the most Concorded passenger. I was on the inaugural flight to Washington (and still have the leather address book). I left my bedroom in London and stepped into my bedroom in New York at exactly the same time (5 hour time difference meant flight plus taxis plus stairs). Adored it. One of our species great inventions.
